SPOILER ALERT x ALISHA RAI’S MODERN LOVE SERIES

Fueled by Lean Cuisines and Lexapro, shy guidance counselor Lucy moonlights as the anonymous voice behind a wildly popular Twitter account, keeping it a secret from her overbearing yet loving Mexican/Moroccan Sephardic family. But when her favorite follower – and secret crush - slides out of her DM's and into her IRL, Lucy's two worlds collide.

Excerpt:

FLETCHER

Look, I know that the first day at a new job usually tends to suck. I get it. You’re new, have no idea what the hell you’re doing or where you’re supposed to go. Everyone stares at you and you have to answer the same question a hundred times, maintaining a level of enthusiasm only matched by someone with a healthy dependency on cocaine. It’s exhausting, but it’s part of the deal of starting somewhere new. I accept it.

What I hadn’t expected, however, was that my first day would also include getting a mug of boiling hot tea tossed directly onto my, for lack of a better word, manhood. That… that had been a curveball.

And it’s at this moment – mere seconds after aforementioned tea has collided with my crotch, possibly rendering me infertile, it’s that hot – that I see the culprit of the spilled tea. Dark, jet black hair. Golden sepia skin. A quivering lower lip. All put together on a beautiful woman who is gaping at me with wide, horrified eyes on the brink of tears. And just like the tea had blindsided me a moment earlier, I’m struck a second time by this woman and the weird sense of déjà vu that washes over me when I lock my eyes on hers. Sure, she may have castrated me, but there’s something fascinating about this woman—beyond her incredible aim.

Should one of them also request your manuscript, we would appreciate it if you would choose the agent you’d most prefer to work with and only send them the requested materials. Should they pass on the project for any reason, and you find yourself still seeking an agent, then you are of course free to resubmit to another member of CMA.
