Pitch:
Determined to salvage her career after a scandal, LA event planner Morgan accepts a gig back in her rustic hometown—only to find that the lumberjane owner of the tree farm she’s there to save is the girl who broke her heart seven years ago. A steamy f/f Hallmark-style romcom.

Fundraiser Quote

From: management@peakperk.com
Dear Morgan,
We hope you’ll consider heading up a fundraiser in Fern Falls this December. Your events at the inn were always so memorable, and your dad talks about you often. We’d love to have you around again.
Warmly,
Peak Perk Cafe
I jab my fresh mani at “archive email” and hope management@peakperk feels the sting of Lilac Lover in both eyeballs.
Fern Falls. Like some cafe could lure me home after seven years. Funny how Dad talks about me when he can’t be bothered to send more than a text every other week. The five-hour drive between that miniscule mountain town and Santa Monica is a freedom I won’t surrender, and I’m booked at least through bridal season 2088.
“If it isn’t Morgan Ross,” a voice booms above the roar of the bar. A collar of white chest hair peeks out from Frank’s BIG WAVE DADDY tank top as he leans across the counter to swipe at a salsa glob.
I banish my cursed Android to my pocket before it summons more ghosts from my past. “Frank.” I tilt back, praying to the core workout goddess I don’t topple off this bamboo stool. “What’s it been? A year?”
Wish it’d been longer, but my co-worker Sonia loves Five-Dollar Margarita Fridays—and I’ve exhausted my cancellation passes. The Sand Bar is between our apartments, making it tough to skip when she knows my plans for tonight (chilling with my succulents).
Hi Courtney,
This sounds so fantastic! I’d love for you to send your query letter and synopsis in the body of the email with the full manuscript attached in a word doc to jess@browerliterary.com, Pitch Wars in the subject line.
If someone else from Brower requests this, just email us both and we’ll decide in house who will read and let you know.
Looking forward to reading!
Warmly,
Jess
This seems like a lot of fun! Would you please send your query and attach your first 100 pages (feel free to adjust to end on a complete chapter) to ronald@bookhaven.com?
Dear Courtney,
I love the voice in the sample and would love to see more. I would be delighted if you submitted the full manuscript to QueryManager.com/evascalzo/PitchWars2020.

Hi Courtney,
I would love to read more! Could you please send a query and the full manuscript as a Word Document or PDF to maggie.queries@irenegoodman.com ? If another agent at Irene Goodman requests your manuscript, please submit to just one agent at a time. If they pass, you are welcome to resubmit to another! Thank you!
Best,

I would love to take a look! Please visit the link below and submit requested info and first three chapters pasted in the sample area. https://querymanager.com/1426

Hi, Courtney! My godparents owned a tree farm in NH, so this hits me in the nostalgia AND f/f rom com feelings. (Can I mention, too, how a love a second-chance romance?) I would love to see your query letter and a full manuscript—you can send me an email at mcooper@aevitascreative.com and mention Pitch Wars in the subject line.
Very best,
Maggie
Good afternoon! I love the premise of this and have two authors currently with Hallmark so the reference caught my attention. Please send query and first 3 chapters to me at Julie.Gwinn@yahoo.com.
Thanks!
Hi Courtney! I would love to request the full manuscript of this! I’ve been looking for a f/f rom-com along these lines. 🙂 You can send the query and manuscript through my online submission form: QueryManager.com/dorianmaffei/Request
Quick note that if you have received requests from multiple agents at Kimberley Cameron & Associates to please only choose one agent to submit to at a time. If it’s not a good fit for one agent, we would most certainly pass it on to our colleagues!
Can’t turn down a queer city girl/lumberjane romance! If you find us a fit, please send your query, synopsis, and full manuscript to QueryManager.com/KaitlynJohnson/Contests
Best,
Kaitlyn Johnson
