HOW TO FAIL AT FLIRTING meets THE HAPPY EVER AFTER PLAYLIST. Allie, a young widow, knows most love stories end with a kiss. But when she kisses a stranger to save him from a blind date, she discovers a kiss can be just the beginning. Trevor is sweet, smart, and sexy, and has her feeling things she hasn’t felt in years. He’d be perfect if he wasn’t her new boss. But Trevor has a secret. He’s hiding his recent cancer diagnosis, because he knows love-shy Allie won’t risk falling for someone she could lose at a young age—again.

Excerpt:

I didn’t normally make a habit of eavesdropping on private conversations, but I couldn’t help myself. And judging by the snickering coming from the nearby tables at the Grind Café, I wasn’t alone.

I moved my foot under the table to avoid tripping two girls in sorority shirts passing by on the left. It was more than a little cramped in the tiny café, but I wouldn’t give up my seat if the barista yelled, “Naked Chris Evans is outside giving away free cheesecake!” And I loved cheesecake. The view I had was that good.

One of the coeds looked up from her phone and froze, transfixed. I followed her gaze to the handsome stranger at the corner table. Well, that confirmed it. I definitely wasn’t the only one who’d noticed him.

As he spoke into the phone, his smooth voice carried over the clatter of the clanging dishes and customers chatting. “It’s not that I don’t want to date your friends. It’s just that every date has been catastrophic. Either the universe is plotting to kill me, or you are.” He paused, listening to whomever was on the other side of the call. “You’re kidding, right?”
