Pitch:
Named for his swift paws, Tentacles the ferret has one goal: stealing marvelous treasures across the Caribbean with the infamous pirate Goldbeard. When Tentacles is shipwrecked with a cabin boy under mysterious circumstances, it’s up to him to find his missing captain—even if it means facing a bath-obsessed lady, a cheeky one-eyed rat, and treacherous buccaneers. Along the way, he finds treasure greater than the shiniest jewel. THE PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN meets THE WIZARD’S DOG in this adventure full of heart and furry wit.
Excerpt:
Call me Tentacles.
I’m a slinky scalawag. A furry fiend. A masked marauder who pilfers pockets across the Caribbean.
I am a pirate ferret, and it’s time to swipe some treasure.
Lurking in the shadows of the Bloodrunner, I circle the cabin like a shark stalking prey. A tiger-eye marble is tucked in my cheek as I watch two pirates dine at a crimson-clothed table. Only one man knows I’m here. My target chomps on his shank of meat with the manners of a starving alley mutt, snorting into his food with every bite. He picks his teeth with a ragged nail, inspects his find, and flicks the glob across the room. It soars through the air like a tiny cannonball, landing inches from my claws.
Gross.
A fancy hat with a scarlet plume shades Bone-Chomp’s face. Otherwise, you wouldn’t know he’s the captain of anything. But pirates don’t earn their positions without good reason, and I’d bet my whiskers his title has more to do with the sword at his side than the brains under that hat.
I’m certain Goldbeard can’t stand the brute, either, but he sips his grog as if it’s the finest wine. He doesn’t even flinch as spittle sprays onto his plate, adding extra seasoning to his boiled potatoes.

I had a friend in college who illegally kept a kleptomaniac ferret in her dorm room, so I can easily picture this character, LOL! I’d love to see more! Please submit your query and first 30 pages via my Query Manager: http://QueryMe.Online/marloberliner
