CHRISTINA LAUREN MEETS TOP CHEF

Pastry chef Aubrey Dennison can't hide her crush on #hotchef Liam Linley when they're thrust into a competition for restaurant space. She must focus on the prize, not Liam's stupidly handsome face. The last thing Liam needs is to catch feelings for his annoyingly adorable opponent, since he desperately needs to expand his restaurant. As they battle through challenges, neither can ignore the heat that blazes between them. But this competition has real-world stakes, and the only clear outcome is a broken heart.

Excerpt:

The bastard was after her eggplants.

Aubrey forced her way through the Monday morning farmer’s market crowd until she was shoulder to shoulder with Liam.

More like shoulder to elbow, but whatever.

“Hey, lay off my eggplants.”

Liam turned, his fingertips pressed into the tender flesh of the vegetable. Which made her brain take a flying leap. Liam probably had an amazing eggplant of his own not the kind priced at two dollars a pound.

Oh, God. He was staring, like her filthy thoughts were broadcast on a billboard.

“What does a pastry chef need with vegetables? I wanted to do a modern take on eggplant parmigiana for tonight’s menu.”

There was the #hotchef bravado. “Oh, I was wondering what this week’s modern take would be. Tell me, will it be a fresh spin on breakfast cereal next?”

“At least I’m feeding the masses.” He flicked one hand absently in her direction.

Liam’s restaurant, Elevation Eatery, was two doors down from her patisserie, Petit Chou. Since the space sandwiched between had become vacant, they’d both pleaded their case to their landlord to claim it, in order to expand their business. Now, it was finally decision day.
