SEX AND THE CITY IN THE INSTAGRAM AGE

Social media influencer Evie Stanton lives her whole (staged and edited) life for the world to see 24/7. But when she meets Oliver James—a super sexy celeb who likes to keep his private life private—she has to decide what’s more important to the REAL Evie: likes online or love IRL.

Excerpt:

Wonder Woman is yelling at me.

“Smize, Evie!” she commands. “We need to get this shot.”

“I’m posing my ass off over here. It’s not my fault you can’t get the angle right.” I roll my definitely not smiling eyes and throw a pillow at my best friend Jess, currently directing me from behind a tiny plastic version of the fierce warrior princess.

Jess ducks, the pillow barely ruffling her hot pink ombre hair. “Maybe it’s because this whole set up is just weird. I mean, who leaves a cup of coffee sitting on top of white sheets?” She chucks my Wonder Woman action figure at me.

I bat Diana down to the floor before she can mess up the perfectly staged scene on my bed. “Dude, watch it.” I adjust the wood tray holding a perfectly poured latte, a small vase of flowers, and the latest contemporary romance release from one of my favorite authors.

“Why you even own a Wonder Woman doll is beyond me,” Jess says.

Trying to catch the light while avoiding shadows, also trying to annoy Jess as much as possible, I turn the tray one millimeter to the right.

The faux photo shutter sound of my iPhone clicks around me while I hold my pose: my arms wrapped around my knees, knees tucked into my chest. Super casual and natural. Totally how I always sit on my bed in the middle of the afternoon.
